Stratheden Path

Stratheden Path is a 0.7-mile point-to-point walk through forest along the base of Kebo Mountain, from the Hemlock Trail connection near Sieur de Monts to Park Loop Road. It suits a short leg in a longer walk through the nearby paths; allow about 20–30 minutes one way. It does not loop back: retracing the named path makes about 1.4 miles, plus the approach from the parking area.

The mapped tread is a natural ground-surface path under forest. It climbs from about 76 feet above sea level near Hemlock to a high point close to 164 feet, then drops slightly toward Park Loop Road. That modest climb is the main effort. This is a woodland connector rather than a summit hike, and the nearby woods are part of the Sieur de Monts birding area.

Use the Nature Center lot and follow the signed paths toward Hemlock to reach Stratheden’s south end. There’s a restroom and Island Explorer stop at the lot. The other end meets the one-way Park Loop Road, so plan a pickup or a return route. Dogs can use most Acadia trails on a leash up to six feet; keep them out of the adjacent Wild Gardens of Acadia.
