This is the launch point for glacier landings and heli‑hikes on the Tasman. On‑site operators handle the logistics and, for glacier trips, kit you out with the necessary gear (jackets, pants, socks, boots) so you don’t have to pack specialized clothing.

Amenities and what’s missing

Expect basic facilities only. There are toilets, but no food or drink for sale, so bring your own water and snacks. Treat it as a staging area, not a full-service terminal; if you want cafés or shops, plan around the village before or after your flight.
