“You're coming up on the Two Jack campgrounds, with two different places to spend the night. For direct lake access, I'd choose Lakeside: it has showers, and some sites sit beside the water.”

Two Jack Lakeside is a frontcountry campground on the wooded shore of Two Jack Lake, reached from Lake Minnewanka Scenic Drive about 10 km from Banff. I’d choose it for a stay by the water while keeping town close; it’s one of Banff’s most popular campgrounds, so book ahead if you can.

Choose your setupSome sites are lakeside.

Some sites are lakeside. The 22-site walk-in tent area has assigned vehicle parking, so you carry your gear from the car to camp. There are also 10 oTENTiks and campsites for tents and small RVs up to 8.2 m (27 ft). These are unserviced sites with no hookups, so don’t plan on plugging in.

You’ll find drinking water, flush toilets, hot-and-cold showers, cooking and picnic shelters, firepits and food lockers. It’s a self-catering stop; no restaurant or food service is listed at the campground. A transit stop serves the site, though you’ll want to check the current schedule before relying on it.

The draw is direct access to Two Jack Lake for non-motorized recreation, with mountain views from the shore and some campsites. The campground is seasonal, so check its current opening dates before planning a stay. Pets need to stay leashed and under control in the campground.
