Guide
Lily Lake Campground is a small, primitive Forest Service campground beside Lily Lake, just off the Beartooth Highway. It suits a no-frills night by the water; this is a simple camping stop, not a full-service resort.
From US 212, take Forest Road 128 for about a mile over gravel to reach the campground. Most vehicles can make the road, but some towing setups may struggle to turn around. There are vault toilets, picnic tables and shared bear boxes. There is no potable water or garbage pickup, so arrive with drinking water and pack out trash. Snow can limit access, and campground services close seasonally.
Lily Lake is a roughly 50-acre lake with a wooded shore; rainbow trout and Arctic grayling are reported here. Warm summer weather can bring water lilies into bloom along sections of the shoreline.
