A practical stop in townKingussie Camping & Aire is a small, working-croft campsite and motorhome aire beside Kingussie…

Kingussie Camping & Aire is a small, working-croft campsite and motorhome aire beside Kingussie railway station. It is a handy overnight stop if you want to be near town, but expect a basic setup and a railway-side pitch rather than a quiet, full-service holiday park.

Pitches and essentialsThe main site lists 11 hardstanding aire pitches and five grass pitches.

The main site lists 11 hardstanding aire pitches and five grass pitches. It has a portable toilet, fresh water, and chemical and grey-water disposal, so it suits a self-contained van best. Two pubs are about 200 m away; shops, cafes, restaurants and takeaways are roughly 400 m into town.

A separate riverside optionCroila Croft is also home to a pony-trekking operation established in 1952.

Croila Croft is also home to a pony-trekking operation established in 1952. In peak summer, the operator opens a separate pop-up camping field beside the River Spey, about 500 m away, with a beach and fishing access. That is a different site from the station-side aire, so check which pitch you are booking.

The railway next doorThe station sits immediately beside the pitches.

The station sits immediately beside the pitches. Trains are part of the setting, so if a quiet night is a priority, choose a more secluded stop.
