Riverside Path is a short circuit from Dulnain Bridge village down to the River Dulnain and back. Allow about 30 minutes. Published distances differ from 0.5 to 0.75 mile, although both figures are paired with 1 km; the connected mapped loop measures about 0.54 mile, closer to the shorter estimate. Most of the way is firm gravel, with short sections of earth path and track.

Steps and riverbankTwo stepped sections break up the gravel.

Two stepped sections break up the gravel. The path descends to the river on steps without a handrail, follows the wooded bank, then climbs more steeply back towards the village on steps and track. It is a quick outing, but not a step-free stroll; take the descent into the river section into account.

The river and its nameThe riverbank is the walk’s main reward: flowing water, rocks and trees stay close to the route.

The riverbank is the walk’s main reward: flowing water, rocks and trees stay close to the route. The name Dulnain is explained locally as Gaelic for a flat, open place by the river. Dogs are welcome; from April through August keep them on a short lead or close to heel around ground-nesting birds, and follow any local signs.
