Tucked at the far end of Broad Cove Campground, this sandy Atlantic beach flies under the radar. It’s the kind of spot you wander onto and realize you’ve got a long, quiet strand nearly to yourself. The sand can take on a reddish hue, and the small brook meeting the ocean is perfect for a quick rinse after a saltwater dip.

What You’ll See

Expect a broad, gently curving beach with ocean views and the peaceful meeting of fresh and salt water. Keep an eye on the horizon—marine life is commonly spotted from park coastlines, and seabirds are frequent flyers overhead.

Swimming and Safety

There are no lifeguards here. Conditions can change quickly and undertow/rip currents can be strong, especially after storms—treat this as a wild ocean beach and use extra caution.

Facilities and Logistics

You’re essentially on the campground’s doorstep, so practicalities are easy: flush toilets and showers are right behind the beach. A valid Parks Canada pass is required to use park facilities, including beaches. The campground (and its washrooms) operates May 16–October 26, 2025; full services are typically in July and August, while shoulder seasons can see limited services. If navigation apps try to route you to a nonexistent beach turnoff, just follow signs for Broad Cove Campground.

Best Time to Visit

For the most services, aim for July–August. If you prefer a quieter vibe, the shoulder seasons can be lovely, but expect limited facilities. Whenever you go, pick calm-weather days for ocean swimming since there are no lifeguards.

Want lifeguards in peak summer? Head to Ingonish Beach (July–August). After a different mood or setting, Black Brook Beach has a small waterfall, North Bay Beach runs long and quiet, Warren Lake offers easy freshwater swimming, and La Bloc Beach delivers pebbly west-side views.
