Eagle Creek Overlook is a reservable group campground on a bluff above the Columbia River, with a broad view toward Bonneville Dam and Washington. A large gathering area and covered CCC shelter sit at its center. The site holds up to 90 people and about 40 cars, making it a substantial group facility for large gatherings.

Workers with the Civilian Conservation Corps improved this 21-acre tract in 1937, when it was developed for people watching Bonneville Dam under construction. The rustic shelter retains stonework, timber framing, and a large stone fireplace. Steps lead from the lower parking area to the shelter; a path continues down the bluff toward the river. I-84 and the railroad are close, so road and train noise can carry into the campground.

The campground’s listed season runs May through September. The entrance gate is locked, and its combination comes with the group reservation confirmation. Campers have drinking water, accessible flush toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, and the covered shelter; there are no RV hookups. Access for people without a group reservation is unclear, so don’t count on a casual day-use stop. The access road passes beneath a railroad trestle with only 11 feet 6 inches of clearance, a limit for some tall vehicles. Westbound I-84 drivers use Exit 40, then return east to Exit 41.
