Guide
Flamingo Campground is a large drive-in campground at the far southern end of Everglades National Park, 38 miles down the Main Park Road from the Homestead entrance. It has 234 individual drive-in sites and 40 walk-up sites for tent and RV camping. This is a proper overnight base for exploring Flamingo, so plan around the long drive rather than treating it as a quick stop.
Some drive-in sites overlook Florida Bay, and nine of the walk-up sites are at the water's edge. If a bay view matters, choose that type of site when you reserve; don't count on every campsite facing the water.
Visitors often praise the quiet setting and starry sky, but this is a large shared campground, not a secluded backcountry site. Mosquitoes can make outdoor time miserable in warm, wet months, and some visitors report them even in winter. Pack effective repellent and be ready to spend less time outside if they're swarming.
