Flamingo Restaurant is the full-service dining room beside Flamingo Lodge, on Florida Bay at the southern end of Everglades National Park. It’s about 38 miles south of the Homestead entrance, so think of it as part of a Flamingo visit rather than a quick food detour. If you want a sit-down meal in this remote corner, keep it on your plan.

The dining room offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, with fresh seafood and a full bar. Anglers can bring in a catch for the kitchen to prepare if it’s filleted, deboned, legal size and in season. Outdoor seating puts the bay setting right beside the meal.

Flamingo’s earlier lodge and restaurant welcomed visitors for nearly 40 years before hurricanes damaged the old complex in 2005 and 2017. The replacement draws on Mission 66 and Miami Modern design; its raised, container-built structure was planned with coastal storms and sea-level rise in mind.

Some recent diners report very long waits, while others describe a smooth meal, so don’t put this between tightly timed activities. The lodge campus has accessible parking and entrances, and the shared restaurant/front-desk building has an elevator. Parking right by the lodge is first come; additional parking by the visitor center or marina means a short walk. Park admission or a valid pass is required to reach Flamingo.
