Mrazek Pond is a small pond beside Main Park Road, about three miles north of Guy Bradley Visitor Center. It’s worth a quick look on the drive toward Flamingo when you have time for a bird check, but don’t build your day around a guaranteed flock.
Most of the year, you’ll see only a few ducks and wading birds. During a few days in some winters, larger numbers—including Roseate Spoonbills and Wood Storks—move in to feed. The timing shifts, and the pond can be quiet or dry, so treat each stop as a chance, not a promise.
The pond’s open water and low shoreline make a clear view across the water. When birds are there, look along the mangroves as well as the pond; a bird partly screened by branches can be easy to miss. A zoom lens or binoculars help with waders across the pond.
Mrazek Pond is at mile 34.4, on the left as you travel from Nine Mile Pond toward Flamingo. Parking and wheelchair access are listed for the stop, but the exact pull-off, surface and viewing route aren’t described. Confirm the setup if step-free access matters to your visit.
