Freycinet Lodge

Freycinet Lodge is a low-rise accommodation property set among coastal bush inside Freycinet National Park, looking over Great Oyster Bay with the Hazards range behind it. It’s the park’s only in-park accommodation, so it makes sense as a base for a trip built around the park’s walks and drives. The lodge itself highlights Wineglass Bay, Cape Tourville and Friendly Beaches as nearby stops.

The Bay is the more formal restaurant, Richardson’s Bistro is the casual option for meals and snacks, and Hazards Bar & Lounge is the place for aperitifs and cocktails. The setting looks across Great Oyster Bay toward the Hazards, and the Bay restaurant is positioned for sunset views. The setting is the lodge’s clearest strength, while experiences with food, value, room upkeep and service can be mixed. I’d choose it for the in-park location and scenery first, then pick the dining venue that fits your plans.

The original lodge development established 60 cabins in the 1990s. Nine Coastal Pavilions, designed by Liminal Architecture, were completed in 2018; each has 60 square metres inside and 90 square metres including its deck. The lodge now lists several accommodation styles, from Coastal Pavilions and Premier Cabins to Mountain Terrace, Bushland, Lodge King, One Room and Family Cabins.

Lodge King is listed as an accessible room, but that label alone doesn’t describe the paths or every facility across the property; confirm the specific room and access details directly if they matter to your visit. If you’re making a separate meal trip, check the lodge’s current arrangements first.
