Honeymoon Bay is a tiny, sheltered beach inside Freycinet National Park: a narrow strip of sand tucked among granite shore, with the Hazards rising beyond it. It suits a quick swim, snorkel or picnic stop, especially if you like a smaller cove. The beach is genuinely small, so choose another walk if you want a long stretch of open sand.

Guide
From Freycinet Drive, use the day-visitor car park and follow the short path and steps to the shore. The approach is brief, but the last part is uneven and not step-free. A National Parks Pass is required for parking. The day-use car park can fill on busy days.
The bay has electric barbecues, picnic tables, toilets and taps, so it works well as a bring-your-own-lunch stop. Tap-water potability and toilet type aren't specified.
The sheltered cove is known for clear water and is a popular place to swim or snorkel. You can also settle on the granite rocks and take in the bay without making a long walk of it.
The rocky shore and the peaks behind it are part of Freycinet's granite landscape. The peninsula is made of two eroded granite blocks, shaped over more than 400 million years. At the bay, the broad pink-gray slopes of the Hazards frame a much smaller pocket of sand and water.
Sunset is a draw from the shoreline rocks. For a photo, include the colorful granite at the water's edge with the bay and Hazards behind it; the short walk from the car park gets you to the shore without a hike.
