Pipe Creek Vista is a roadside overlook on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park along Desert View Drive. The canyon opens around the Pipe Creek drainage, with Mather and Yaki points framing it from either side. It isn't the biggest view in the park, but the drainage gives this stop a more focused shape than a single broad horizon. I'd make it a short stop on the eastbound drive if you want to watch the canyon split around the creek.
The paved Canyon Rim Trail, also part of the Greenway, passes here and is open to bicycles. From this access point, the trail runs about 1.4 miles west to Mather Point or 0.9 mile east to the South Kaibab Trailhead. That makes Pipe Creek a handy point to add to a longer Rim Trail outing.
The cooler, shaded canyon walls below the rim support patches of Douglas-fir, a small micro-habitat supported by water and shade. Spring and fall migration make this a useful time to watch for birds.
Keep Mather and Yaki points near the sides of the frame and let the drainage lead your eye into the canyon. That captures what makes this overlook distinct: the way Pipe Creek cuts between the two rims.
