Leeks Marina & Boat Launch is a marina on Jackson Lake’s east shore, about a mile north of Colter Bay Village via a paved road from US 89/191/287. The stop includes a boat launch, services for private boats, a small dock and Leeks Pizzeria beside the water. It makes sense as a lakeshore stop on its own or as a starting point for a day on the water.

The marina serves private boats and runs a shuttle from its small dock to boats moored on the lake; it does not rent boats. A park permit is required for every boat and paddleboard launched in Grand Teton. Get one at the Craig Thomas Discovery & Visitor Center in Moose or the Colter Bay permits office. Boats entering Wyoming also need an aquatic invasive species inspection from March 1 through November 30. Marina service depends on lake levels, so check current conditions before counting on a launch or shuttle.

Leeks Pizzeria sits beside the marina, with a deck looking across Jackson Lake toward the Teton Range. The seasonal restaurant adds an easy meal to the stop and has restrooms. It is marked wheelchair accessible; check access to the dock separately if that matters to your visit. Visitors often praise the view, while reports on wait times and pizza quality are mixed, so allow some flexibility if you’re eating here.

Stephen Leek was a rancher and conservationist who established a hunting and fishing camp on this shore before 1900. In the winter of 1908–09, he photographed starving elk and used the images to call attention to their plight. Congress established the National Elk Refuge in 1912, giving this marina a link to an early conservation campaign in Jackson Hole.

Islands just offshoreSeveral islands sit just beyond the marina.

Several islands sit just beyond the marina. They are habitat for fish, birds and other wildlife, and become part of the view from the lake. The surrounding water is known for lake, brown and cutthroat trout, so the shoreline is also a useful place to orient yourself before heading out to explore Jackson Lake.

Photograph the whole settingWater levels change how much gravel shore is exposed around the dock.

Water levels change how much gravel shore is exposed around the dock. For a photo, keep the dock or shoreline in the foreground and the islands and Teton Range beyond; a tight mountain crop loses the sense of being at the lake’s edge. The pizzeria deck offers another broad view across the water.
