Kennett River Family Caravan Park is a coastal campground on the Great Ocean Road between Lorne and Apollo Bay. It has cabins as well as powered and unpowered sites, with grassy, shaded camping areas. This makes most sense as an overnight stop if you want to stay close to the coast, rather than a quick lookout visit.
Kennett River Beach is opposite, across the Great Ocean Road. The beach has a local point break and is patrolled seasonally, so lifeguard patrols are not year-round. The campground sits among trees with the Otway forest behind it. Visitors also report koalas and birdlife around Kennett River, though sightings are never guaranteed.
