Salmon Point Lookout is a cliff-top viewing platform in Rocky Harbour, reached by a short walk along Paynes Path and known for its panorama across the mouth of Bonne Bay. The view includes the bay mouth, steep cliffs, and a lighthouse. Bonne Bay is a glacially carved fjord, so pause to take in the broad shape of the inlet rather than treating the lookout as a quick photo stop.
Keep the bay mouth, cliffs, and lighthouse together in one frame; that combination explains the view better than a tight shot of the lighthouse alone. The area is also noted for possible whale and seabird sightings. They are a bonus rather than a promise, so scan the water and sky without building a visit around them. Sunsets can add color over the water, though that depends on the evening sky.
