Mount Kerkeslin Campground is a seasonal campground beside the Athabasca River on the Icefields Parkway, about 34 km from Jasper. It suits tenters and RVs under 27 feet who want a wooded stopover; the sites are primitive, each with a fire pit.
Sites are first come, first served, with no reservations. Expect pit toilets, no showers or electrical hookups, and no food service listed at the campground, so plan meals before you arrive. Campers mention water tanks, but whether the water is potable is unclear; verify before relying on it.
The river access and mountain backdrop are the main draw. Site privacy varies, and summer noise can break the quiet, so this is a better fit for a practical overnight stop than a guaranteed secluded retreat.
