Moose Lake Loop is a short, easy outing from the Maligne Lake parking lot, with quiet water, spruce and lodgepole forest, and the boulder-strewn terrain of an ancient landslide. It is Parks Canada Trail 20 and a convenient add-on near the lake.

The official route is a 2.7 km (1.7 mi) loop that takes about 1–2 hours and gains roughly 59 m (194 ft). From the Bald Hills trailhead kiosk, follow the Bald Hills Trail or old fire road for about 200 m, then turn left onto the Maligne Pass Trail toward Moose Lake. The mapped line closes through the short parking connector and returns to the Maligne Lake lot.

Moose Lake sits in a forested hollow among mossy, lichen-covered boulders left by the prehistoric landslide that helped shape the Maligne Lake valley. Moose are possible around the lake but never guaranteed; early light can bring reflections on the water and a quieter walk.

Keep dogs leashed, stay on the marked route to protect moss and lichen, give wildlife plenty of space, and carry mosquito repellent. A Parks Canada entry pass is required.
