Jubilee Point is a small picnic site on the eastern shore of Loch Eck, just off the A815 on the Cowal Peninsula. You pull in for the view, a picnic, or a short walk down toward the water. Keep it as a calm pause in a drive through Argyll Forest, not a half-day attraction: the place is compact, and its appeal is the loch sitting right in front of you.

The view opens through the trees along the shore, with Loch Eck stretching between wooded slopes and higher hills beyond. A few picnic tables and short tracks toward the water make it easy to settle in or find a little cove. If you have brought a canoe or kayak, this is one of the named launch points on the loch for portable, non-motorised craft. The water also carries a good bit of natural history: red squirrels forage on the shores, while powan, a rare freshwater fish described as an Ice Age relic, lives here and in Loch Lomond. For a photo, keep a foreground tree in the frame with the loch and mountain ridge behind it. That gives the flat water some scale and makes the stop feel like a place rather than a generic landscape.

Make it workAccess is simple from the A815, but the parking area is small and the point is lightly serviced.

Access is simple from the A815, but the parking area is small and the point is lightly serviced. Bring your own food and drink; the current destination information does not list a café, toilets, or a drinking-water tap at the site. The shore tracks and small beaches are useful for getting closer to the water, but no surface or step-free access specification was available, so do not assume the shoreline is accessible to everyone. Vehicle camping is not permitted here, despite some older campervan listings describing an overnight stop. The loch is open water, so keep an eye on children and treat the launch area with care.
