This is a reservable tent-and-RV campground within John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park on Key Largo. Its 42 sites each have 30- and 50-amp electrical service, 110 outlets, water and sewer hookups, a picnic table and a grill. Most fit RVs up to 40 feet, with a few longer sites. It works well as an overnight base for the park's snorkeling, diving, boat trips, paddling and trails; those activities are spread around the wider park, not gathered at the campground.
Site lengths vary, so check the dimensions before booking for a large RV. The campsites can feel close together, which limits privacy. Mosquitoes and no-see-ums are a recurring nuisance, so pack repellent.
The park entrance is on US 1 at mile marker 102.5. There is a large campground bathhouse with hot water, a second smaller one by the primitive group camp, and two washers and two dryers for campers. Use your site grill: campfires are permitted only at the primitive group camp. The separate Blue Heron Café by the boat embarkation area serves grill-style food, drinks and ice cream. Pets follow Florida state-park rules.
