Darling River Camp is a backcountry campsite near km 14 of the 75 km West Coast Trail, between Michigan Creek and Tsocowis Creek. It’s a stop on a multi-day hike, reached on foot rather than by road. The best reason to linger is the short inland walk to Darling Falls; level tent space is limited on the sloping beach.

A roughly 150–200 m walk upstream leads to a waterfall that drops about 3–4 m into a small pool enclosed by forest and rock. That green pool is a more distinctive view than the narrow, rocky beach at the river mouth. Leave a little time to explore the river channel instead of stopping at the shoreline alone.

Plan around a backcountry campThe site has an outhouse and bear-resistant food caches.

The site has an outhouse and bear-resistant food caches. No potable-water supply was verified, so plan to carry or treat water and follow Parks Canada’s current guidance. The West Coast Trail closes annually to travel from October 7 through April 30; Darling River is beyond the limited 8 km day-use zone from Pachena Bay. Check current trail access requirements before setting out.
