Guide
Canyon Campground is a road-access campground just north of Pocaterra Hydroelectric Dam on Lower Kananaskis Lake, with 50 unserviced RV and tent sites. Larger sites open into grass; smaller ones sit among trees. It’s a straightforward base for nearby hiking, mountain biking and paved cycling routes if you don’t need hookups.
Expect firepits, pit toilets, secure food lockers for cyclists, a playground and a sewage disposal station. There are pull-through sites, but no power or water hookups. Tap water is seasonal and weather-dependent, so bring your own outside the water-service season. Firewood is sold by the campground manager or at the Boulton Creek store; no restaurant or food service is listed at Canyon.
