Wildlife closure on Woolley Trail

Woolley Trail is closed from the junction of Wheeler/Meadow Trails to Amos Trail because wildlife is feeding on a dead moose in the area. - Do not enter the closure. If you encounter wildlife, give it at least 30 metres (100 feet; three bus lengths) of space, stay aware of your surroundings, keep pets leashed, and do not feed wildlife. - Report sightings and incidents to 310-LAND (5263). Check current Peter Lougheed advisories before traveling.

CLOSURE

Pocaterra Cirque and Ridge construction closure

Pocaterra Cirque, Pocaterra Ridge, and surrounding areas are temporarily closed during trail construction and reclamation work. - The closure began July 6, 2026 and continues through fall 2026 or until further notice. Construction crews and heavy equipment are active in and around Pocaterra Cirque Trail. - The closure protects public safety while crews and heavy equipment are active, allows construction and reclamation to proceed safely and efficiently while minimizing the overall closure, and protects newly reclaimed alpine vegetation and restoration areas while they are being established. - Highwood Meadows Day Use Area remains open. Do not cross construction barriers or enter active construction zones; follow signage and personnel directions. Conservation Officers will enforce the closure under the Provincial Parks Act. - Alternatives include Ptarmigan Cirque, Rawson Lake, Chester Lake, Heart Creek, Picklejar Lakes, and Burstall Pass, subject to current road conditions, trail closures, and advisories. For alternatives, call 1-403-678-0760 or visit a Kananaskis Information Centre. Check current Peter Lougheed advisories before traveling.

Black Prince Cirque access bridge washed out

Do not cross the washed-out bridge just beyond the parking lot providing access to Black Prince Cirque Interpretive Trail. - The trail has a warning because the access bridge has been washed out. - The Blackshale Creek Suspension Bridge is not accessed from this trail. Check the current Peter Lougheed trail report before traveling.
