Rainy Lake Recreation Trail is a 3.5-mile out-and-back on wide, gently sloped pavement, from Rainy Lake Visitor Center to a signed western trailhead and back. Allow about 1.5 hours for the round trip. It is a low-effort way to stretch your legs, and the paved route is also used by people biking, running, and snowshoeing.

Turn around at the signed west end and retrace the same corridor; it is not a loop. The trail reaches the broader International Falls bike route near Highway 11, but that longer regional ride is a different outing.
