Crandell Mountain Lodge

Crandell Mountain Lodge is a two-storey hotel in Waterton’s townsite, within walking distance of the lakefront, shops, restaurants, and park activities. Built in 1940, it has an old-fashioned timber-and-stucco character. The townsite location and the choice of room layouts are the main reasons to stay here.

Room choices range from standard bedrooms to family rooms and multi-room suites. Equipment varies by unit: some rooms have a microwave and mini-fridge, while selected rooms offer a kitchenette or full kitchen. Check the specific room setup before booking rather than assuming every unit has the same facilities. Bathrooms are private; in some two-bedroom suites, the bathroom is reached through one bedroom, which can be awkward for the rest of the group.

Rooms have no air conditioning or televisions, and second-floor rooms are reached by stairs. Confirm the floor and layout if stairs matter. Housekeeping and upkeep can be uneven, so weigh that against the convenient location and room choice.

The town’s shops and restaurants are an easy walk away, making it practical to leave the car parked while you explore. Parking is directly outside the lodge.
