Waterton Marina and Peace Park Plaza“Waterton Marina and Peace Park Plaza are coming up, a good place for a short walk beside the lake. Follow the public seawall to the red chairs at Marina Point; allow fifteen to twenty minutes for a look around.”

Guide
International Peace Park Plaza is a small interpretive space beside the Waterton townsite marina. Its paths and exhibits tell the cross-border peace-park story, and the seawall opens onto Upper Waterton Lake. I’d add it to a village walk if you want a little history with your lake view; it’s a brief stop, not a big museum visit.
The plaza’s interpretation includes cougar and elk tracks. Take a moment to follow the track displays along the paths instead of treating the space as only a viewpoint.
Waterton Lakes and Glacier National Park in Montana joined in 1932 as the world’s first International Peace Park. The original Peace Park Pavilion opened in 1982, but its foundation was removed in 2015. The current plaza, with pathways and exhibits, opened in 2018, so older references to the pavilion describe a different version of this spot.
From the marina seawall, look across Upper Waterton Lake toward the Prince of Wales Hotel. For a photo, include the hotel with the water; it gives the view a clear Waterton landmark.
