Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop

Leoda’s is a family-style restaurant and pie shop in Olowalu, just off the coast road between Lahaina and Māʻalaea. It’s known for sweet and savory pies, but it works as a breakfast or lunch stop too. If you want a good slice or a casual meal along the drive, this is worth pulling in for; the main tradeoffs are a busy line and limited seating.

The shop took its name from Leoda, the mother of one of its co-owners. Its Olowalu Lime pie has a local story of its own: it was inspired by citrus trees growing across the road. The exact menu changes, but the sweet and savory pies are the reason people know the place.

Three friends opened Leoda’s in 2011. Co-owner Michael Moore, an Olowalu resident, wanted the village to have another place to gather after Pioneer Mill closed in 1999 and the longtime Chez Paul restaurant closed in 2009. That community connection gives this casual roadside stop a little more to it than a quick food break.

The restaurant is at 820 Olowalu Village Road, reached from Honoapiʻilani Highway. Dine in or take your order along; visitors often say the line moves even when it’s long. Seating can be tight, and the customer lot is shared with nearby businesses, so parking varies with demand. Check current hours and menu before you go.
