Parking
There is no road access at either end. Sealers Cove and Refuge Cove are reached on foot, so plan this as a through-route stage rather than a car-park-to-car-park walk.

Trail guide
At 6.4 km (4 mi) one way, this point-to-point stage joins Sealers Cove Camping Area and Refuge Cove via Horn Point. The usual walking time is about two hours. It’s one leg of the Southern Circuit, not a return walk from a road. Choose it as part of a through-hike between the southern coast camps; if you want a walk from a roadside trailhead, pick another route.
From Sealers Cove the track climbs through dry eucalypt forest toward Horn Point. The ground gets steep, rocky and uneven. Open rock slabs at the point are the main payoff, with a view along Five Mile Beach and out along the coast. Much of the climb is among trees, so the sea view arrives in a concentrated stretch rather than following you all day. Stop on the slabs for the broadest view, with some of Five Mile Beach in the frame to show the coastline’s shape.
Beyond Horn Point the path descends through wet gullies to North Refuge Beach. A short sandy stretch leads on to Refuge Cove. The change of ground is part of the walk: rough rock around the high point, then gullies, beach and the sheltered cove shore. It’s a compact coastal stage, but the uneven climb and descent make the distance feel more demanding than the number suggests.
Both ends are hike-in camps, so plan a longer circuit or another through-route rather than expecting a roadside car park. Book both camps ahead if you’re staying overnight. Toilets and untreated water are available at Sealers Cove and Refuge Cove; treat or boil the water. Check tide times for deep creek crossings at Sealers Cove. Dogs aren’t allowed on the track. Allow extra time for the steep footing and a stop at Horn Point.
