Hoodoo Creek Campground

The unserviced sites suit tents and motorhomes or trailers up to 50 feet. The open setting has little shade, but gives the campground its broad mountain views. Crowding and road noise vary from stay to stay, so don’t count on a reliably quiet night.

There’s no drinking water, so bring your own. Expect basic pit privies, picnic tables, and fire pits with cooking grills; firewood is provided. You’ll need a national park entry pass and camping permit, and a fire permit for campfires. The campground is seasonal, so check the current dates before planning. Cell coverage is limited and there’s no Wi-Fi.

The Hoodoos hike starts at the campground. It follows a closed campground road for 1.2 km, then climbs steeply through dry, exposed terrain for 2 km to capped pillars of glacial debris. The route is about 3.2 km each way with 400 m of gain; allow about 2.5 hours return. It’s a proper uphill hike, not a quick photo stop.
