Quad Creek Scenic Overlook is a paved pullout on US 212 above a forested valley in the Beartooth Mountains. The view takes in a sweep of mountain ridges, with the highway dropping across the slope in switchbacks. It’s a short stop for a look at the scale of the route, especially if you want a pause without adding a hike.
The switchbacks are the clearest detail in the broad panorama: they show how the highway winds from the high country toward the valley. For a photo, keep the road low in the frame and the mountain ridge above it so the curves give the landscape scale.
An interpretive board beside the paved layby is titled “Igneous Dikes of the Beartooth Mountains.” It gives you another quick point of interest after the view.
A paved layby sits directly beside US 212. Beartooth Highway is seasonal and weather-dependent, so this stop depends on the high route being open.
