Panorama Point is the easy win on UT‑24: a short turnoff and an even shorter walk put you on a slickrock knoll with sweeping, near‑360° views. It’s the classic quick stop to get your bearings near Fruita without committing to a hike.

What You’ll See

From the top, scan the multi‑colored sandstone cliffs and the broader desert expanse. You can spot well‑known features in both directions, including The Castle to the east and Chimney Rock to the west. The vantage also gives you a sense of the Waterpocket Fold’s grand upwarp that defines the park’s geology.

Why It’s Worth a Stop

It’s beautiful and effortless—exactly what you want from a roadside overlook. Sunset paints the cliffs in warm tones, and the area’s dark skies make it a handy place to step out for stargazing if you’re not up for a longer walk elsewhere.

Best Times to Visit

Midday draws the biggest crowds (especially Saturdays), while early mornings and later afternoons see lighter traffic. For photography, the view trends north toward the cliffs, so sunrise can be tricky; late afternoon into sunset usually delivers better light. If you stay past dusk, bring a light for the short return to your car.

Make this a quick add‑on with nearby Goosenecks Overlook and Sunset Point just up the same corridor—easy hops that deliver different perspectives with minimal effort.

Know Before You Go

There’s a pullout and parking right off UT‑24, but no water or restrooms, and no shade—pack sun protection and plenty of water in warmer months. Pets aren’t allowed on the short path to the overlook.
