Parking

Use the Forest Service Coyote Wall Trailhead off Courtney Road on the east side of Highway 14 near Bingen. Park in designated spaces only; the day-use lot has a vault toilet, no potable water and no fee. Little Maui begins at an upper road junction, not at the parking area; follow established network routes to the start and from Old Ranch Road to return. The 3.8-mile Coyote Wall–Moab/Maui Loop is a commonly mapped way to include it.

Safety

Mountain bikers share this narrow, rugged trail; watch at junctions and for poison oak in the Coyote Wall area. Dogs must be leashed December 1 through June 30.

Little Maui Trail #4425 is a 1.13-mile point-to-point route from the upper old-jeep-road junction down to Old Ranch Road. It crosses open grassland dotted with solitary white oaks, then follows a stream past small cascades. Allow about 45 minutes for the segment; reaching the start and returning to a car adds connector miles. The common 3.8-mile Coyote Wall–Moab/Maui Loop includes Little Maui plus other trails and roads.
