Mazama Campground

Mazama is Crater Lake National Park’s largest campground, with 214 sites in seven loops. It sits in old-growth lodgepole pine at about 6,000 feet, on a bluff roughly 200 feet above Annie Creek. Rim Village is about six miles north, so choose Mazama for a wooded in-park base, not a lakeside campsite.

Each site has a picnic table, a fire ring with a grill and a bear-resistant food locker. The sites have paved parking for two cars or an RV; potable-water spigots and seasonal flush toilets are spread around camp. Showers are seasonal, in Loop F and at the village store. Pets can stay at campsites and on paved areas on a leash no longer than six feet.

Site size and privacy vary from one spot to another. Some campers like the shaded, quiet feel; others find the pitches close together, so look at the individual site layout if room matters.

The adjoining Mazama Village has a seasonal general store for groceries and camping supplies, plus a casual American restaurant, gas and an ice-cream counter. From OR-62, turn right just past Annie Spring Entrance Station to reach the campground. It usually opens in June and closes in late September, with dates set by snow and safety conditions.
