Langstone Manor Holiday Park is a camping and touring park at Moortown, on Dartmoor’s western edge near Tavistock. It combines 40 touring pitches with glamping pods, static caravans, cottages and apartments, so think of it as an overnight base, not a public moorland attraction. Its sheltered, wooded setting puts Dartmoor scenery close at hand.

Pitches and the manorThe touring pitches are split between an old walled garden and Daffodil Field.

The touring pitches are split between an old walled garden and Daffodil Field. Both are terraced and level, with views across the moors and countryside. Campers have heated showers, toilets, laundry and dishwashing facilities. The manor house also has a restaurant serving seasonal food and drink; opening changes by season, so check before you plan dinner. The property began as Stone Farm before becoming Langstone Villas in 1871; after years as a country hotel, it became a camping park in the early 1960s.

From Tavistock, follow the B3357 toward Princetown; the turn is about two miles out at a crossroads. Avoid the sat-nav shortcut via Harford Bridge: the road is steep and narrow, especially if you’re towing. The park promotes walks from the site, which makes it handy if you want to start exploring the moor without driving to another trailhead.
