Maswik Lodge is a lodging complex in Grand Canyon Village on the South Rim, set among ponderosa pines. It is about a quarter-mile from the canyon edge, so expect a wooded setting and a short walk or shuttle ride to rim views, rather than a room directly at an overlook. It works well as a village base if you want to get around without driving between every stop.
A Blue Route shuttle stop sits directly in front of the main lodge entrance. North and South lodging blocks sit around the central building: North rooms are reached from exterior walkways and have no elevators, while South has interior access and elevators to second floors. Check the particular building and room when accessibility matters; the layouts are not interchangeable. Six public Level II EV chargers are sited across Maswik North and South; check stall availability before relying on one. Parking is in shared South Rim lots rather than an assigned hotel lot, and busy periods can require satellite parking.
The original Maswik Motor Lodge opened in 1927, built by the Fred Harvey Company and Santa Fe Railroad as more travelers arrived by car. The name refers to a Hopi kachina said to guard the Grand Canyon. The present complex keeps the lodge in a pine-forest setting, with its lodging blocks arranged around a central main building.
