Trail guide
This is a 2.5 km out-and-back from Triplet Falls Picnic Area to a suspended platform over Little Aire Falls. Allow about 2.5 hours. It is a short rainforest walk with a steep, stair-heavy return; the platform is the payoff, and the track does not reach the falls’ base.
Start on the Triplet Falls track and take the signed Little Aire branch after roughly 100 m. The route passes through cool temperate rainforest and wet eucalypt forest along an old logging winch line, with fern gullies and bridged stream crossings. Expect around 360 steps and steep sections. At the diagonal track crossing, stay on the main path and continue straight. Dogs are not allowed in Great Otway National Park.
The route ends at an eight-metre cantilevered platform above the falls and valley. Its grated floor can feel exposed if heights bother you. Water can run stronger after rain, though the track may also be muddy then. From the platform, include some of the surrounding fern forest in a photo to show the falls in their setting.
