Bunyeroo Valley Lookout is a drive-in viewpoint off Bunyeroo Road, with a wide view across a low, wooded valley to the layered Flinders Ranges. It gives you a panorama without setting out on a walk, so it works as an easy pause on the drive. The draw is the sweep of country from valley floor to distant ridgelines, rather than one landmark on a single peak.

How it comparesThe lookout comes before Razorback on the same road, roughly a kilometre away.

The lookout comes before Razorback on the same road, roughly a kilometre away. They are separate stops. Razorback gives you the closer, more dramatic view of the mountains. If you're choosing only one, I'd prioritize Razorback; if you want the broad valley view as well, Bunyeroo makes a worthwhile short stop before it. This is the wider, more distant view, not the closest look at the ranges.

For a phone photo, keep the valley below the ridges in a wide frame. That foreground gives the distant lines some depth; a tight crop of the hills loses what makes this lookout's view different.

From Wilpena, the usual approach heads north along Flinders Ranges Way before turning onto Bunyeroo Road. There's a drive-in parking area at the lookout. A published route account describes around 16 km of rough dirt road to the lookout area; that distance covers the unsealed stretch, not a hiking approach; expect a slower drive and check current access, since unsealed surfaces vary and weather can affect them. A vehicle-entry permit is required for the park; check current details before arrival. Dogs aren't permitted in the park.
