Hiking Up Yonda Farm Sugar Trail

A short, easy connectorSugar Trail is a 0.

Sugar Trail is a 0.25-mile connector through Up Yonda Farm’s sugarbush, from the Farmhouse to the Sugar House and Base Loop. The farm rates it easy and marks it yellow. Its trail sheet doesn’t say whether the quarter mile includes a return; the map shows a point-to-point connector, so treat that figure as one way. The mapped centerline measures about 0.19 mile, so the posted quarter mile is approximate. Allow about 15 minutes one way, longer if you stop to read the StoryWalk panels. Return on Sugar Trail or continue onto Base Loop for a longer walk.

The route passes the Sugar House and the seasonal StoryWalk. When the StoryWalk is installed, it follows a children’s story that changes with the season; check what is currently on the path if that is your main reason to visit. The Sugar House hosts maple-sugaring programs in March and self-guided tours in July and August. Those are seasonal activities, and the rest of the farm’s trail network can extend this short walk.
