More about Veteran’s Memorial Park Beach

A compact beach dayVeteran’s Memorial Park Beach is Bolton’s public beach park on Lake George, at 5034 Lakeshore…

Veteran’s Memorial Park Beach is Bolton’s public beach park on Lake George, at 5034 Lakeshore Drive in Bolton Landing. It pairs a small sandy swim area with public docks, a playground and picnic grounds, so it’s an easy pick for a few low-key hours, especially with kids. The beach is compact; if a long stretch of sand is the point, this one may feel small.

Swim, play, or launchBasketball, a beach volleyball net and the playground add room to spread out beyond the water.

Basketball, a beach volleyball net and the playground add room to spread out beyond the water. Picnic tables and grills make it easy to bring a meal down to the lake. A seasonal kayak launch and public docks give paddlers another way to use the waterfront. Swimming is a summer-season offering with lifeguards, and the Town lists public restrooms. Pets aren’t allowed.

Lake and mountain viewsFrom the sand, Lake George opens toward forested Adirondack ridges.

From the sand, Lake George opens toward forested Adirondack ridges. For a photo, keep the dock to one side and leave the far shoreline in frame; that captures the mix of beach, open water and mountains that makes this stop feel distinctly lakeside.

Dedicated in 1971, the park received its largest renovation since then in 2025. The work added a 2,300-square-foot recreation building and pavilion, renewed the playground, and refurbished the Veterans Memorial with vertical panels modeled on portions of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. The recreation building houses the Town’s programs; the beach, docks and memorial make up the visitor stop.
