Guide
Rogers Memorial Park and Beach is Bolton Landing’s public swimming beach and waterfront park on Lake George, along Route 9N/Main Street, about ten miles north of Lake George Village. It’s an easy pick when you want a swim or a picnic without leaving the village. The setting is a shared municipal waterfront with docks and courts, not a secluded cove.
The park has a sandy swimming area, pier, public docks, picnic tables, a pavilion and gazebo, basketball and tennis courts, and public restrooms. A regional visitor center is based here too. Walk out on the pier, bring a picnic, or settle in for a while between the beach and the lawn.
The pier opens onto Lake George, with wooded mountains across the water and docks in the foreground. For a photo, include part of the pier or dock with the lake behind it; a frame of open water alone loses the village waterfront context.
The current park brings several civic projects together: the town master plan covered a visitor center, beach restroom, rebuilt pier and public docks, bandstand, and hillside amphitheater. The visitor-center project received a regional partnership award in 2017. The beach, pier and other facilities make this a useful stop for the community as well as a place to swim.
