Best time to go

The campground stays open year-round, but summer days often top 100°F. May and September highs are usually around 90°F, while winter nights can dip below freezing. For a more comfortable night outside, aim for cooler months and be ready for summer heat above 100°F or winter nights near freezing. From Lake Mead Parkway, go east to the park entrance, follow the road about 2.5 miles, then turn onto Lakeshore Drive and Las Vegas Campground Road; the campground is about a mile farther.

Las Vegas Bay Campground is a developed, year-round campground near Henderson on the western edge of Lake Mead National Recreation Area. It has paved roads and asphalt sites for tents and RVs; mature cottonwoods and other plants shade and screen some spaces. It suits an overnight close to Henderson, but there is no lake access.

What comes with a siteSites have a picnic table and fire ring or grill.

Sites have a picnic table and fire ring or grill. Flush-toilet restrooms and water spigots are spread around the grounds, with an RV dump and water-refill station near the entrance. Sites are nonelectric, with no hookups or showers. There are no shops, food, or other services within walking distance, so plan for a drive if you need supplies or a meal. Restroom and dump-station upkeep can be uneven.

The current booking information says reservations are required, including for same-day arrival. Check availability before driving over.
