“On a summer walk, a tall spike of pink-purple bells at a woodland edge may be foxglove. The dark spots inside each flower attract bees, and the lower lip gives them a place to land before they climb toward the nectar.”

Callander Woods Holiday Park is a wooded campsite and holiday park on the eastern approach to Callander, within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. It offers touring and seasonal pitches alongside lodges, caravan holiday homes and glamping pods, so the point is a comfortable base for exploring the area rather than a park attraction in its own right. Callander is about a mile away, with shops, cafés, restaurants and takeaways in town. Choose it if you want to sleep close to the Trossachs and keep your days flexible.

Touring pitches include electric hook-up, and fully serviced pitches add fresh water and wastewater drainage. The refurbished facilities include heated toilets and showers, an accessible bathroom, family bathroom, laundry and dishwashing area. There is Wi-Fi for light browsing, an EV charger, children's play area, dog-walk area and drive-over waste disposal. Dogs are welcome, but ordinary tent pitches are not; roof tents, tentboxes and trailer tents are accepted on touring pitches.

From the site you can head out on walking and cycling routes, with paths linking towards Strathyre and Balquhidder; local options also include fishing, golf, paddleboarding and canoeing. The park's woodland setting is peaceful, although daytime traffic noise is a tradeoff on the Stirling Road approach. It works best for campers who want facilities and a town nearby, not for a secluded wild-camping feel.
