Trail guide
Lochside Path is a 1.1-kilometre loop (about 0.7 mile) from Luss Car Park, through the village and down to Loch Lomond by the pier. It takes about 15 minutes over flat, even surfaces. It’s a good way to see Luss and the water when you have a small gap; it won’t fill a hiking morning.
From the car park, the route threads along surfaced paths through the village, reaches the lochside and pier, then returns through the village to the same start. Luss Pier has welcomed cruise boats since 1850, a reminder that visitors have been arriving across the loch for generations. The route is one of the village’s short all-abilities walks and is described as suitable for wheelchair users and buggy pushers.
Start at Luss Car Park beside the visitor centre. Public toilets are marked at the start on the route card. Village cafés and hotels offer food and drink if you want to stay longer. Allow around 15 minutes for the circuit, plus time at the water and pier.
