Mammoth Cave Campground

Mammoth Cave Campground is a developed campground in four paved, wooded loops, about a quarter-mile from the Visitor Center. It is a handy base if you want to reach cave tours and park services on foot; the walk to the Visitor Center takes about five minutes.

Most sites are primitive, without electric or water hookups. Two VIP RV sites have full hookups, but they are first-come, first-served and cannot be reserved. Campsite size and levelness vary, so read the individual site listing before choosing. RVs fit only selected sites, and the standard campground is a better match if you are comfortable camping without hookups.

Each loop has restrooms and water. Hot showers and laundry are near Caver’s Camp Store, and the adjacent service center has a dump station. The seasonal store sells ice and firewood. Park rules prohibit bringing firewood in from outside; buy it at the store or use only dead and down wood on site.
