The Lantern Café & Ice Cream Parlor is a counter-service café inside The Lodge at Mammoth Cave, just across the footbridge from the visitor center. It’s an easy add-on to a cave tour or a pause on the lodge side; expect grab-and-go food with an ice-cream counter.
Ice cream is the clearest draw. Visitors praise it more consistently than the hot food, which gets mixed reports. I’d stop for a cone or a convenient bite, but choose another meal if you’re counting on a particular dish.
The café can get busy when cave tours let out, so leave a few minutes if you’re stopping between tours.
