Guide
Mora Campground is a 94-site campground in Olympic's coastal forest, about two miles from Rialto Beach. It is a forest stay rather than a beachfront camp, and some sites look toward the Quillayute River. It makes a practical overnight base for exploring this corner of the coast.
The shaded setting is the draw, but the feel varies by site. Campers describe some spots as close together and tent pads as rocky or uneven, so privacy and a level pitch depend on where you land. River views are a bonus at some sites, not a campground-wide feature.
Expect potable water, flush restrooms, animal-proof food lockers, fire rings with grates, and an RV dump station. One campsite and the restrooms are identified as accessible. There are no showers. Dogs are allowed on leash in campgrounds; secure food and scented items in a locker or vehicle when not in use.
Rialto Beach is a separate two-mile drive. North of the beach, memorials commemorate 36 people lost in Chilean and Norwegian shipwrecks in 1903 and 1920—a sobering piece of local history alongside the coast's forest and river scenery.
