“You're approaching World War Two Radar Station B seventy-one, a military post built to look like a farmhouse and barn. Look closely at the fake windows and dormers: the farm shapes disguise concrete-block buildings.”

Hiking WWII Radar Farmhouse Trail

A short walk to a hidden stationThis is an about 0.3-mile out-and-back from the Coastal Drive pull-off to Radar Station B-71.

This is an about 0.3-mile out-and-back from the Coastal Drive pull-off to Radar Station B-71. The earth path crosses coastal meadow and drops roughly 50 feet to the buildings; allow about half an hour to walk and look around. The return follows the same corridor and climbs back up. One published description calls the walk a meadow loop, but its separate return leg is not mapped here, so this guide shows the confirmed access path. Check the on-site route before setting out if you expect a full circuit.

The concrete power building was dressed as a farmhouse, complete with false wooden siding, windows and dormers. The operations building was disguised as a barn, with a false barn door and a roof detail that mimicked a hay-hoist track. The buildings are a view from outside rather than an indoor exhibit. Look for the Pacific beyond the roofs; stepping back to include the coast makes the farm disguise easier to read.
