Timber Creek Campground

Timber Creek is the park's only campground on the west side: 98 developed sites along U.S. 34, about eight miles north of the Grand Lake entrance at roughly 8,900 feet. It's a useful base for Grand Lake and the western stretch of Trail Ridge Road. This is a developed campground along the highway corridor, not a secluded backcountry camp.

All sites are reservation-only. The mix includes tent, walk-to, and RV sites, with a 30-foot maximum combined vehicle-and-trailer length. Each site has a tent pad, picnic table, and metal fire ring with grate; none have hookups. Four ADA sites are available, so check the individual site details when you reserve.

There's no camp store or food service, and no showers or laundry. Potable water and flush toilets are seasonal. Arrive with the food and supplies you need. Site privacy varies: some campers find tree cover and more separation, while others describe open or closely spaced sites.

Bears, deer, elk, raccoons, and skunks frequent this area, and visitors also report moose. Keep all food and scented items in your vehicle or a campground food locker; don't assume every site has its own locker.
