A wooded loop with a steep startEntry Run and Rosser Lamb is about 2.6 miles from the limited parking on Entry Run Road.

Entry Run and Rosser Lamb is about 2.6 miles from the limited parking on Entry Run Road. It loops across the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club’s Entry Run Tract, just outside Shenandoah National Park: Entry Run climbs the wooded ridge, then Rosser Lamb returns beside a stream. Allow around 1.5 hours. Choose it for a compact climb and a change from ridge to creek, not for a developed overlook.

A short approach near the parking area is shared on the way in and out. Entry Run climbs steeply toward the ridge and Lamb Cemetery; Rosser Lamb descends beside Collects Run. Both legs are natural-surface paths, and the sharp opening climb is the main effort.

Lamb Cemetery marks the mountain community that occupied this hollow before the park was created. The nearby Rosser Lamb Cabin was built by Hiram Lamb in 1915; it is a private club rental, not a public stop. The cabin road and surrounding land are private, so stay on the blazed trail and designated road.
